Vivian is an Anishinaabe articling fellow with the John Howard Society of Canada from Nogojiwanong (Peterborough), Ontario. She earned her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she served in her final year as Co-Chair of the Osgoode Indigenous Students Association. Within law, she is especially interested in criminal, prison, constiutional, and patent matters. Through work with the Crown Attorney, defence counsel, and a justice circle, she has had the opportunity to view the criminal justice system from different angles. A common denominator across much of her work in and outside of law has also been advancing the interests of Indigenous communities. She previously studied psychology, neuroscience, and behaviour and political science at McMaster University. She also enjoys cycling, lifting weights, paddling, exploring natural and urban environments, hobby photography, and has been known to write an essay here and there.
