Thomas is an Indigenous advocate (Anishinabek) with over 10-yrs legal experience as a Barrister and Solicitor. He graduated with a B.A. (Honours) in Criminology & Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law from Carleton University in 2007. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2011. He was called to the Ontario bar in January 2014 and appears regularly as counsel before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Family Court, and has appeared as counsel before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, as well been involved in legal teams in matters before the Federal Court and Supreme Court of Canada. Tom practices exclusively in Indigenous law and he has been Level's Program Facilitator in Rama First Nation for the last 8 years.
