Peter Gilgan Foundation Funding Announcement

Level is excited to announce our continued funding partnership with the Peter Gilgan Foundation. A $100,000 general operating grant from the Peter Gilgan Foundation will support Level’s ongoing project to increase equitable access to justice with a special focus on Indigenous youth in Canada.

“We are so proud to be able to support the work of Level as they work to bring Indigenous equity into the justice system. There is still much work to be done as we strive for true reconciliation, and the work of Level plays an important role in that journey.”

- Luke Gilgan - Manager, Peter Gilgan Foundation

With this general operating support, the Level team is thrilled to expand our transformative justice education programs and utilize technology to make our programming more accessible to Indigenous youth across Canada. Level’s Indigenous Youth Outreach Program, Blazing Trails Mentorship Program, Campus Chapter Program, and Cultural Humility and Empathy Training are all focused on engaging youth and social justice actors to cultivate a justice system that is more responsive, balanced and fair.

About the Peter Gilgan Foundation
The Peter Gilgan Foundation is a private family foundation with a mission to improve the lives of children and families by empowering charities that help the world transition to a more healthy, prosperous and sustainable future. The foundation prioritizes programs that support leadership representation of the people most directly affected by the problems we seek to solve, target root causes of problems and not just address the symptoms and address comprehensive solutions rather than fragmented approaches or isolated interventions. The foundation grants empower organizations that enable economically vulnerable young people and families to overcome barriers to academic success, economic prosperity, and health and wellbeing.

Thank you to the Peter Gilgan Foundation

We are grateful to the Peter Gilgan Foundation for their ongoing commitment to support culturally relevant education and programming that aims to advance reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, promote a two-way knowledge exchange between legal professionals and Indigenous youth, and provide tools needed to infuse the justice system with more empathy and understanding.
