Level's New Online Curriculum!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new online learning resource!

Since 2012, Level has engaged over 1200 First Nation, Métis and Inuit students through our Indigenous Youth Outreach Program. Our innovative justice education and mentorship program is designed to expose participants to the justice system in a positive and culturally empowering way.

We're taking this program online in hopes of reaching even more young people with our unique curriculum!

ABOUT THIS COURSE

IYOP online is specifically designed to benefit First Nation, Métis and Inuit youth in a manner that is culturally-anchored, while increasing their knowledge of the justice system and empowering them to believe in their capacity to succeed.

It also provides an opportunity for non-Indigenous students to improve their Indigenous cultural competency, which fosters positive relationship building and intercultural exchanges. This works to advance reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.

The full course takes between 60-90 minutes to complete and includes text and video lessons and accompanying quizzes to test students’ knowledge. Each lecture is an excellent way to learn more about the law.

Lecture topics include:

  • The Justice System and Indigenous People
  • Canadian Criminal Justice System
  • Youth Criminal Justice Act
  • Restorative Justice
