Fatima is currently completing the following degrees: J.D degree the University of Saskatchewan, M.Ed. degree with a dual specialization in Indigenous Education and Social Justice Education; and an associate degree in computer science. Aside from the degrees she is currently undertaking, Fatima has also completed a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies (including an academic term in Sweden); a Bachelor of Education; a Masters in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change; and a M.Sc. in Educational Leadership and Innovative Technologies.

Throughout Fatima’s career, she has worked in many roles including as the Executive Director for the Inuvik Youth Centre, in Inuvik, NWT; an Organizational Development Advisor at the Botswana Network of AIDS Service Organizations, in Ghanzi, Botswana; a Women’s Development Officer and an IT Training Officer for the Shefa Provincial Council, in Vanuatu, South Pacific; and a Project Leader at Peace It Together, in Vancouver, BC. Prior to starting law school, Fatima worked as a teacher at the Sautjuit School in Kangirsuk, QC.

As an educator and student, Fatima has travelled to over 55 cities, towns, and villages to pursue studies and teach about her passions (and has lived on every continent except South America and Antarctica). Fatima identifies as an immigrant to Canada; she suspects she is indigenous to South Asia and wants to serve as a settler-ally during her time in Canada.
