Fatima is a Pakistani-Canadian immigrant, lawyer, and social justice advocate. She is passionate about promoting human rights, immigrant and refugee rights, as well as advocating for intersectional feminist approaches.

She obtained her undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of British Columbia. She has since completed her law school education at the University of Windsor, where she earned the Windsor Law Equity and Diversity Award as well as the JW Whiteside Award in 2020 for contributions to the community. She has also been a recipient of the Social Justice Fellowship in 2019, allowing her to work with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Toronto.

While serving as Level Justice’s Social Justice Program Manager, Fatima is also working on her LLM degree at Osgoode Hall Law School where she was awarded the Harley D. Hallett Graduate Scholarship and currently serves as a Graduate Research Fellow with the Centre for Refugee Studies.

Fatima’s passion for social justice has enabled her to work in different areas over the years, including human rights law, immigration and refugee law, as well as access to justice work. She aims to continue working collaboratively and respectfully with marginalized communities in order to promote equity and access to justice.
