Chanelle Lajoie is an Indigi-queer Futurist, sibling, partner, community member, artist, and law student. Swampy Cree and Red River Michif from Treaty 1 Territory, Chanelle is currently completing their final year at McGill Law, located on the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehà:ka. Chanelle is interested in legal research related to the areas of public health, trans and gender justice, critical race theory, surveillance and policing, and legal mapping through use of radical cartography. Chanelle is also interested Indigenous solidarity across race, class, and gender lines.
